Director of Information Technology: iSeries (AS/400) Salary: $175,000 - $195,000 plus bonus
Responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling all aspects of application development, related to the iSeries (AS/400) based ERP system, and the implementation of 3rd party package software and Web/Windows based applications. This position will proactively interface, with internal and external customers, vendors, project managers, and technical/programming staff to ensure effective definition and the delivery of business applications. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities Include:
Managing IT Development staff and any contract staff members
Design, development and delivery of quality business applications
Using technical and functional expertise to be a lead in designing solutions
Lead design and review sessions with development team, business partners and management
Manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project management methodologies
Maintain controls that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules and budgets, and ensure user/management involvement at appropriate milestones
Manage application design through the various life-cycle stages from business need through design and delivery
Manage project priorities, scope, budgets, timelines and expectations
Review and assess vendor solutions and proposals
Lead the development of project documentation and training materials where applicable
Provide technical support and assistance as necessary
Establish and enforce best practices and implement policies and procedures for compliance to ensure company wide standards are followed and meet SOX compliance
Provide management with regular communication on the progress of projects and other initiatives
Coordinate intra-departmental projects and resources
Responsible for the management of staffing
Facilitate a departmental culture that encourages ownership of departmental goals and a positive service culture
Experience/Qualifications Include;
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience within Manufacturing and/or Distribution (Supply Chain) environments
8+ years demonstrated application development management experience in an ERP environment iSeries (AS/400) and Windows/Web Based solutions
Strong technical knowledge of IBM i (AS/400), RPG, CLP, SQL and DB2/400
Results-oriented professional who is a self starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use MS Office tools: Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, Project
Demonstrated success of establishing, managing and maintaining effective working relationships at the management level, internal and external to an organization
Strong leadership, teaching and mentoring skills
Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
Ability to prioritize multiple projects, requests and support tasks effectively and efficiently
Must be a team player
Knowledge of iSeries based ERP Solutions, .NET, TFS, Web and Windows based architecture, Mobile, Bar-coding, Aldon, Robot, XML, HTML, and CGI
Experience integrating websites to an IBM i in a B2B and B2C environment a plus
