Reporting to the Art Director, the Senior Designer is a highly visible and influential team member, responsible for bringing campaigns to life in tactical execution, story-telling visually across a variety of print, web, and digital marketing channels. This role is responsible for elevating the quality, consistency and cohesiveness of all campaign work from brief to delivered in-market creative, while ensuring harmony between brand and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Support Art Director by running the day-to-day design execution for all assets and other on-brand digital & print experiences, actively own and execute decisions for all in-season work in an elevated, on brief and compelling direction.

Work directly with creative team colleagues, cross-functional teams and business owners to translate briefs into executions that meet business needs while upholding core brand tenets.

Facilitate and support designers in creating high quality, on-brand work that waterfalls down from overarching creative positioning/POV.

Actively look ahead to problem solve and set up design projects for success, facilitate design team’s success in speed to market, including seasonal templates, style guides, go-bys and more.

A self-starter, this candidate is a strong active listener with a high degree of curiosity. They are able to quickly distill the needs and goals of a project and ask great strategic questions to unlock key insights, delivering exceptional creative that looks beautiful and drives performance.

Be a UX expert, understand and implement best practices across print, web, email, and display marketing. Work with e-commerce team to ensure designs are aligned with usability, accessibility, and web standards.

Ensure all design is consistent across multiple touchpoints, including emails, online advertising and store experiences—continually work to understand and manage how different briefs connect back to overarching campaigns.

Help guide junior creative staff through feedback and coaching to maintain consistent creative quality, to the standards of the1800flowers brand.

Concisely and elegantly communicate design decisions/strategies to creative leadership and business owners.

Qualifications:

Able to translate high level feedback from Creative Team leads into meaningful action.

Eagerness to take ownership of campaign design across team.

Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently as well as across multiple, smaller sub-teams from various departments.

Attention to detail while juggling multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Ability to multitask, handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, often without a lot of prescriptive direction.

Self-starter with strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.

Excellent planning and organizational skills and techniques.

Communicate effectively among peers and senior management.

Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities and manage conflict.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Master skills in relevant programs such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, workflow tools ex: Basecamp, Workfront, Asana, DAM systems such as Widen/Acquia, Bynder, BrandFolder.

Ideal work experience blends a history of success in editorial/visual storytelling and retail/e-commerce industries.

Excellence in use of photography, a keen eye for selecting and cropping artwork.

Master typographic and grid skills.

Deep understanding of print and digital best practices, from editorial grids and pre-press to CMS-driven web components, WCAG/ADA compliance, and overall UX flows.

The expected pay range for this position is $75k - $85k. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.
