Commissioner Human Settlement

Minimum Qualification- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Social Sciences; or Economics; or Statistics; or Development Studies; or Physical Planning; or Urban and Regional Planning Studies plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields obtained from a recognized University/Institution - Applicants should possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from a recognized University/InstitutionWorking ExperienceApplicants should have a minimum of twelve (12) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Assistant Commissioner in Government.DutiesThe incumbent will be responsible to the Permanent Secretary for performing the following duties:- - Supervising the review, formulation and development of policies, legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines for human settlements in the Country; - Providing technical guidance and coordination of Housing projects and programmes in the sector; - Monitoring and evaluating implementation of policies, legislation, standards and regulations for sustainable human settlement in the Country; - Planning, budgeting and accounting for the resources and performance of the Department; - Supervising and accounting for the performance of the staff of the Department; - Supervising studies and research for sustainable human settlements in the Country; - Supervising, mentoring and appraising the performance of the staff of the Human Settlements Department; - Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
