Job Description

Robert Half is searching for a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience who is interested in working with an esteemed Oil & Gas firm. Key parts of the role include preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates with strong analytical skills and a preference for challenging and fast-paced work environments will be successful in this position. Located in Broussard, Louisiana, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Oil & Gas field. Great compensation, benefits, and chances for advancement are all part of the package.

Key responsibilities

- Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary

- Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions

- Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

- Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Engage in various department-wide initiatives

- Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

- Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

- Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

- Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

- SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

- Experience with ERP systems

- Comprehensive knowledge of Asset Inventory

- Full Cycle Accounting experience preferred

- Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards
