The individual will be a part of Corporate Tax team assisting clients on varied corporate tax issues, tax advisories involving DTAA implications, digital tax, cross border transactions, evaluating jurisprudence, analysing transactions end-to end from Income-tax, FEMA perspective, deal with tax controversy / litigation matters of clientele, etc.
Role Responsibilities:
Reviewing client deliverables developed by from juniors for their sanity and completeness and accuracy.
Expert knowledge and practical experience in planning, preparation & submission of computation of income, tax return
Experience in reviewing and analyzing tax issues in agreements/ contracts/
Advising clients on tax and regulatory matters associated with intra-group transaction, third party transaction, issues surrounding the same, finding tangible solutions
Maintaining the status of the open litigations, tax risks analysis and defense strategy on ongoing basis
Independent handling of complex international tax/ domestic tax disputes before the Tax officer, TPO, Commissioner (Appeals)/ DRP/ Tribunals
Drafting of submissions, appeals, etc. to be filed with the respective tax authorities in the appropriate forum.
Monitoring and managing a team of individuals to carry out client deliverables in time and diligently with accuracy.
Reviewing CIT (A)/ DRP appeals/ submissions and ITAT appeals/ submission/ paper books to determine optimum case strategy
Well versed with the Indian tax provisions/ international tax updates / OECD Regulations etc.
Ability to independently analyze, research on technical issues and interpret provisions under the Income Tax Act.
Effectively and cordially handling team members which may comprise of Managers/ SM/ DM Trainees, etc
Taking technical sessions as per learning and development initiative
Engage and lead key assignments of cross border transactions and international tax matters
Expand and mine opportunities with existing clients, identifies and acts on referrals in relation to the Service Line
Take independent steps to develop firm tax practice with timely business development initiative
Requirements
Desired Skills:
Excellent communication skills – written and spoken.
Take voluntary initiatives of BD and Article drafting on tax issues.
Keep juniors and team members engaged and involved in new tax and regulatory learning opportunities and sharing insights on new learnings.
Qualification:
Qualified chartered accountants with experience in Domestic / International tax / Corporate tax/ DTAAs/ Digital Tax / Tax litigation and Representation / Tax officer matters, etc.
Work experience of minimum 10 -12 years post qualification.
