As an Associate Vice President, you'll provide leadership of Product Development and Product Management activities for IMG. You'll manage Nationwide's mutual fund and CIT and NVIT product lines and drive strategic thought leadership across all investment products. You will own the product strategy, product design and development for IMG and lead a team of product developers and managers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Identifies and appraises new opportunities, including relationship development, new products, new channels and new markets

Establishes strategic direction for product lineup. Accountable for leading ongoing lifecycle management initiatives for mutual fund and CIT and NVIT product line that supports Nationwide's annuity, life, retirement and institutional mutual fund businesses.

Ensures competitive positioning of products for each distribution channel via appropriate pricing and performance targets. Responsible for the overall leadership of all product management deliverables. Provides leadership and guidance, including coaching and feedback to direct reports and other IMG and NF associates.

Leads product development and management discussions during quarterly board meetings, including share class restructurings, product rationalization, pricing analysis, 15c annual updates and any other product related matters. Serve as product specialist with Fund Governance, Legal and other internal teams in developing and overseeing board materials.

Ensures internal understanding and communication of investment strategies used within all products. Works with internal marketing leaders to ensure accuracy and relevance of communication in marketing collateral. Provides leadership and support for internal distribution partners.

Builds organizational talent, leading change and innovation and driving execution.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Vice President, IMG Product & Business Development. Leads a team of approximately six to 10 high level individual contributors.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree in finance, business, insurance or related subject; MBA or CFA preferred.

Experience: Twelve to 15 years of experience in financial services industry, preferably in mutual funds or similar products, with proven senior leadership responsibility.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong knowledge of all significant investment management products and services, including a detailed knowledge of all business and market trends that will affect these products. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a high-functioning team. Proactive, innovative and creative skills to meet client and enterprise needs. Ability to motivate others and build a coordinated team. Very strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Proven ability to effectively collaborate, initiate action and adapt to change.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
