Responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations, including safety and compliance, employees, production and efficiency, quality control, maintenance, shipping and receiving to ensure the plant is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely. Responsible for hiring and training personnel and facility / physical plant up-keep. Responsible for annual budget planning and execution. Works closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within all aspects of manufacturing operations.

Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility and to build a high performing team.

Review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement. Develop data

driven metrics and projects for continuous improvement.

Manage Safety and Compliance programs.

Liaison to governing bodies at both the State and Federal level such as OSHA, EPA and Fire Marshall.

Work with Supply Chain and Planner to maintain production scheduling, inventory levels and product flow.

Manage KPI Reports in relation to strategic goals and objectives.

Coordinate the hiring and training of all operations personnel.

Establish group or individual accountabilities throughout departments for problem solving and cost reduction.

Monitor and control operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.

Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives.

Work closely with the staff to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace.

Recommend and execute the operating and capital budget.

Develop, maintain and measure capital improvement projects to keep the plant up-to-date and at high efficiency and safety.

Analyze workforce requirements.

Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to employees.

Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.

Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.

Remove waste and constraints from all processes to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.

Responsible for maintaining site security.

Able to travel 10-15% of the time.

Ensure the facility and all equipment is properly maintained.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemical, electrical or other related degree preferred or 8+ years progressive.

experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility with technical aptitude and analytical skills.

Previous experience / strong understanding of budgeting / expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.

Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Outlook / Word /Excel / PowerPoint).

Previous experience / best practices implementing and using continuous improvement / lean tools such as: Six Sigma,Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
