Job Description

Meridian Healthcare is looking for enthusiastic, detail oriented Medical Assistants to join our in-patient facility located in Youngstown, OH. Shifts available are 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00p-7:30am, with flexibility to work on a weekend rotation.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Accurately assist with on-site admissions, immunizations, drug screens and additional testing when scheduled

Provides direct care (i.e.-vital signs, transporting to other departments) or other care to patients according to Meridian policy and procedure as delegated by and under the supervision of the licensed nurse.

Competent in Blood Pressure, Pulse and Narcan administration

Consult with physicians, nurses and Medical Manager regarding judgments and effective decisions related to patient care

Perform clerical and supportive duties including answering phones and order entry as needed

Ability to prioritize and execute tasks for the assigned patients in a timely and efficient manner, and under the direction of the licensed nurse

Collaborate provide clear communication to all clients, staff, physicians and visitors

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Medical Assistant education and/or 2 years experience required

First Aid and CPR certifications

Computer proficiency required
