We are seeking Building Structural Designer to join our Structural/Marine Group in our Fairfax, VA office.

Come join our collaborative team of engineers and architects on a variety of challenging projects, including buildings, industrial facilities, mission critical/secure facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities. WRA has a strong mentoring culture and a focus on staff development.

Work with structural engineers, coordinate with other disciplines, and assemble final construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets, including Federal/Local Government, Industrial, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Develop construction documents (plans, elevations, sections, details, etc.) leveraging both 2D and 3D authoring platforms with minimal supervision.

Comply with project-related standards.

Work effectively on individual assignments as well as work within diversely skilled teams.

Fulfill role of BIM coordinator for basic to moderately complex projects. Perform cross-checks of all discipline drawings to ensure both consistency and adherence to standards. Perform technical support tasks such as verifying model integrity, setting up federated models, performing tasks related to clash detections and troubleshoot as needed.

Requirements:

High school degree or equivalent required

10+ years production experience, including 5 years in building design for either architectural or structural disciplines

Proficiency with basic hand and CAD drafting skills

Advanced proficiency with Revit, including a working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities relevant to a BIM-enabled project

Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation; ability to understand software capabilities, limitations and interoperability

Proficiency with MS Office products

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Time management skills

U.S. Citizenship required

Additional Qualifications

CSI CDT certification preferred

Familiarity with ProjectWise and ACC preferred
