Job Summary

The Director of Sales & Retail Strategy will direct, manage, formulate, execute, and assess the effectiveness of Grow Ohio's sales and retail strategy. This individual is responsible for providing sales leadership while working closely with the marketing team on brand execution for the Company, both at the Company's dispensaries and third-party dispensaries around the State. This role is responsible for ensuring the Company's sales team achieves the established sales targets and driving product sales in an evolving market. The Director of Sales & Retail Strategy will develop effective sales strategies to attract and retain high volume customers. This person must focus on relationship building and meeting our customers' needs to be successful. This role is also responsible for establishing retail purchasing strategies and managing retail dispensary staff to drive product sales and accomplish retail sales quotas. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will work closely with the Chief Planning Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following represents a non-exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position:

Sales

Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission and vision of Grow Ohio.

Generate leads and opportunities through professional contacts, dedicated prospecting, and cold calling.

Build strategic relationships to generate long-term supply commitments.

Continually maintain knowledge of customer business issues, market dynamics, industry competition, sales strategy, and products and services.

Conduct regularly scheduled reviews with the Company's sales force to discuss in-depth account reports, new opportunities, customer problems, competition, industry swings, and product information.

Identify and build relationships with key individuals that have a high level of influence or decision-making authority in purchasing.

Identify potential customers and engage prospects through the sales pipeline and close accordingly.

Perform cost-benefit analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.

Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within sales plan.

Analyze the territory/market's potential, track sales and status reports.

Monitor competition by gathering information on pricing, products, market presence, etc.

Develop, lead, and manage a high-performing sales team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.

Collect patient feedback and conduct relevant market research to identify trends that may bolster sales.

Work closely with Inventory Control and Compliance for deliveries & order fulfillment.

Manage customers, orders, and sales within the Company's sales platform.

Provide bi-weekly report(s) to CEO on the Company's wholesale and retail sales and product sales trends.

Collaborate with accounting to collect & track account receivables.

Advise development of customer facing sales collateral and product packaging.

Retail

Work directly with Company's Chief Planning Officer to allocate products and designate units for wholesale and retail sales in line with the Company's sales strategy in Ohio.

Assist Retail Leadership in all aspects of dispensary operations, including but not limited to: sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory management, and staff training and development.

Work closely with CEO and Creative Designer on brand concepts and brand positioning in the Company's dispensary space, as well as the placement and distribution of marketing materials to customers.

Monitor and analyze sales reports to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

Assist in the development and implementation of sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.

Train and develop dispensary staff to ensure they are knowledgeable, customer-service oriented, and competent in all areas of dispensary operations.

Oversee the flow of product in the dispensaries with delegation to store managers to monitor inventory status and product age.

Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by successfully implementing sales strategies.

Identify prospects, make effective vendor calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all SKU categories.

Review product sell-through rates and develop criteria to evaluate the demand for third-party products on our dispensary shelves.

Establish product margin targets for third-party products sold at the Company's dispensaries to ensure shelf space is allocated effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Sales, or Management/Business preferred or equivalent work experience.

5-10 years outside sales experience.

Cannabis sales experience preferred, but not required.

Sales methodology training (relationship & value based), forecasting & planning.

Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills.

Computer literacy in MS Office products and sales tracking and reporting software.

Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.

At least 21 years of age.

Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.

Effective time management skills.

Detail oriented, highly organized, and motivated by accomplishment.

Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels of management.

This is a full-time position with variable hours required. Our facility is open from 6 am to 8 pm seven days a week. Candidates with weekend availability is required.
