This is an on-site full-time contract role, for up to two years, paid on W2

The CMM Technician is responsible for the programing of Coordinate Measuring Machines

(CMMs), developing quality control plans, and inspection record sheets. The individual is responsible for

the inspection of precision machined parts by using a variety of precision inspection equipment. The

employee will be required to use this equipment effectively to verify conformance to blueprint and process

specification requirements. The role is to define effective and efficient actions allowing to detect and

contain quality issues, as well as to correct and prevent them.

Job Responsibilities:

Program CMMs (Preferred experience with Zeiss Calypso)

Perform inspections across various stages of production.

Inspect parts and audit products according to quality and process standards. Inspection can be

performed through visual, layout, dimensional, or non-destructive tests.

Ensure the compliance or report non-conforming parts/procedures.

Provides support to production, identifies problems in manufacturing & assembly process,

communicate within the team to provide solutions.

Train operators in the best quality practices.

In-house verification of inspection equipment.

Contribute to improving quality through quality improvement plans.

Assist in the investigation and disposition of Non-conforming material.

Assist in gathering data, compiling information, and assisting management in the development of

metrics and reports.

Maintain inspection reports, First Article / Final Inspections, and ISO documentation

Requirements:Qualifications

Able to program CMMs (Preferred experience with Zeiss Calypso)

Inspection of precision machined parts including reading blueprints, material, and part specifications, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.

Maintain a working area in a neat and orderly manner.

Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.

Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Willing to work overtime as required

7 years experience in a mechanical assembly role for optical products.

Experience working on new product introduction programs

Able to assist to help develop optical assembly process with feedback to engineers

Experience with laser test and alignment systems.

Experience operating optical test systems.

Excellent teamwork is a must.

Very good hand to eye coordination

Demonstrate understanding of basic optics technology

Can understand and follow written and verbal work instructions and communicate effectively in a team environment.

Intermediate mathematical skills including use of basic math and geometry.

Adequate visual acuity to preform visual inspection of optical surfaces i.e. color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Excellent manual dexterity.

Computer skills for basic MS Office software required, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
