Classification Non-exempt (hourly)

Reports to Production Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Valtim Marketing Solutions Machine Operator will be responsible for maintenance and operation of their individual piece of equipment to meet demands and expectations of our clients. All Operators are cross trained to operate multiple pieces of equipment.

Skills and Specifications

1. Strong attention to detail and understanding of quality standards.

2. Ability to read, understand and communicate work orders; take and apply instruction.

3. Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.

4. Ability to understand and comply with quality and safety regulations.

5. Mechanically inclined.

6. Willingness to learn and improve; ability and openness to train on multiple machines.

7. Basic math skills are needed as well as the ability to use and read a ruler.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Ability to set up and run paper guillotine cutting equipment, producing high-quality work that meets or beats the estimated production time. This operation requires bending and lifting stacks of paper throughout the work schedule.

2. Performs a daily inspection of equipment at beginning of shift as well as basic maintenance on all work-related equipment.

3. Enters specifications into the computer system.

4. Keeps track of daily production schedule in each workstation.

5. Uses computer equipment to navigate through the system to retrieve order related information.

6. Examine and read job jacket thoroughly to ensure that work order information matches final proofs and samples.

7. Reports to supervisor regularly, keeping them updated on production activities and progress.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 3PM to 11:30PM. with overtime and weekend hours as needed. Production hours vary by department. Training hours will vary.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Highest Level Managed: None

Organization Relationships: This position interacts and communicates directly and regularly with Production Manager, VP of Operations, Client Services team, Warehouse team, and other operators.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand; walk; sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; and reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to stand on your feet for an entire shift; lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the scheduled shift.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. High School Diploma or GED.

2. Work experience of 2 years.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Related work experience over 2 years.

2. Related experience a plus: Printing, Mailing, Fulfillment, Contact Center
