AmpThink has an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Mill/Lathe Machinist. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the machining of complex parts, as well as conducting setups on mills and lathes. AmpThink provides engineering support, precision machined parts and assemblies to a broad range of business types including Defense, Energy, Medical, Electronics, and Communications.
The successful candidate will be required to:
Verify that documentation provided with the job is current and matches job traveler
Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished part
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machine
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
Conduct dimensional FAI by using calipers, gauges and micrometers
Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications
Adhere to set up sheet instructions to maximize efficiency
Clock in-out of jobs
Start and monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required
Escalate any machining or tolerance issue immediately to shop supervisors
Clean and maintains work area
Communicate work status and requirements with other team members and shop supervisors
Requirements
Min 1-year related experience in CNC machining
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, bills of material and specifications
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to be on your feet for much of the working day
Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required
