Purpose: The purpose of the Senior Director of PMO is to lead the company through strategic project delivery by leading all PMO Project Managers and projects to deliver high priority and highly complex projects while maintaining a project delivery governance for all other projects. The Project Management pillar is responsible for scoping, planning, budgeting, and delivering the project/program as outlined by the business & IT strategy.

Essential Functions:

Manages highly complex & high priority projects directly; provides governance for all other projects in business & IT

Maintains the governance & methodology for overall project delivery (non-IT and IT)

Directly oversees and leads both IT and Business projects that fit within the governance model

Ensures communication and transparency throughout life cycle of projects, maintaining plans to ensure milestones are met, as well as project resources and budgets

In partnership with initiative Stakeholders, is responsible for on time and on budget delivery of critical initiatives

Oversees communication of individual projects and programs, as well as project documentation including project plan, business & IT requirements, and weekly status reports

Performs management of the risks of the project, including development of contingency plans

Manages project scope and change control, escalating issues where necessary

Liaises with any vendors or suppliers in relation to the project

Ensures project objectives are understood and met, ensuring that the Project Team members understand the requirements

Ensures all groups are adequately consulted and are satisfied with each deliverable as it effects their specialist area

Reporting Relationship: Reports into the SVP of Enterprise PMO

Major Interdependencies Project Management, Technology, all corporate disciplines

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 10 years:

In a leadership role: Requires 5 years of experience leading a senior level team of professionals engaged in developing and executing change management programs

In a technical role: Requires 10 years of experience engaged in developing and delivering change management programs.

A bachelor’s degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the ten-year requirement

An MBA or a master’s level degree in a program related to the functional area can count for an additional 2 years of the ten-year requirement

In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience

Specialized Training:

Training that leads to an in-depth understanding of project and change management

Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits

Highly advanced business acumen and also has the strategic mindset required to understand the long-term implications of change management decisions and to advance the organizations goals

Demonstrated history of anticipating and balancing the needs of the business with the needs of complex stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances

Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals

Demonstrated experience exhibiting a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to optimize work processes and achieve positive results

Location/Travel:

This position requires regular hybrid attendance at F&B Center of Excellence in Bethesda, MD or Retail Center of Excellence in East Rutherford, NJ

Requires presence once a month at/travel as necessary to Center of Excellence that is not their primary work location
