Packaging Associate

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Packaging Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating manual saws, chop saws, and nail guns to prepare plywood and other materials for packaging. Experience with cranes is a plus, particularly for roof truss assembly and building. The Packaging Associate will primarily work in a lumber yard environment, ensuring all materials are packaged safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Operate manual saws, chop saws, and nail guns to cut and assemble plywood and other materials.

Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment, especially saws, are properly guarded.

Assist with the assembly and building of roof trusses, if applicable.

Utilize a hammer and other tools as needed for packaging and assembly tasks.

Perform quality checks to ensure all packaged materials meet company standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packaging area.

Operate cranes, if trained and certified, to move materials as needed.

Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks, if required.

Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with team members.

Willingness to undergo training and learn new skills as needed.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.

Familiarity with operating manual saws, chop saws, and nail guns.

Ability to use hand tools such as hammers effectively.

Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to them at all times.

Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.

Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Crane operation experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Valid driver's license for lumber yard drivers, if applicable.Working Hours: 6:00am-4:00pm
