Job Description
The Tooling Expeditor for Tooling and Fabrication tracks and organizes the flow of components from machining, welding, and extrusion through surface preparation, paint and various outside suppliers, to the Design and Build Teams.
Nature and Scope:
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the Tooling Expeditor tracks component flow, performs ERP system transactions for machined and welded components as they flow through the final manufacturing stages.
This position routinely applies knowledge of drawings, part finishing specifications, and subcontractor capabilities. This position serves as backup part preparation and pickup/delivery.
Principal Duties:
Check machined and fabricated components for correct quantity and forward to surface preparation.
Coordinate workflow from surface preparation to paint or outside plating suppliers.
Check for proper surface preparation and route to outside plating suppliers.
Process E-2 transaction and forward to Purchasing for entry into OSAS.
Receive incoming plated parts and raw materials.
Match parts to the appropriate drawings.
Check for proper finish, quality, and quantities.
Process E-2 transactions.
Monitor Drawing Control / Detail log sheets for upcoming and past due dates.
Serve as backup surface preparation operations as needed.
Experience Criteria:
1-2 years of experience in a tooling and fabrication environment with specific skills in the following areas:
Visual part inspection and measurement.
Blueprint interpretation.
Computer skills
Time management
Forklift operation
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma.
Formal trade school certificate is highly desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work in standing position continuously
Walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to floor
Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
VISUAL ACUITY:
Near acuity with or without accommodation
HEARING ABILITY:
Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify or diagnose
WORKING CONDITIONS:
High noise levels from operation machines
Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
Skin exposure to oil and fluids
