About Organization:

We are a vibrant Jewish organization dedicated to inspiring and educating the Jewish community. We operate a year-round kosher retreat center; a growing 200-child summer camp; and club activities and community events in greater Los Angeles to achieve our mission. We are critical to Jewish leadership development and Israel-centered educational activities on the West Coast.

Role Overview: The Development Director is pivotal in advancing the mission and sustainability of the organization. This individual will spearhead fundraising efforts, cultivate relationships with major donors, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

- Develop, execute, and oversee a year-round fundraising campaign, including an Annual Scholarship Campaign and major capital campaigns.

- Maintain regular communication with major donors, providing personal updates on organizational activities and impact.

- Manage robust donor stewardship and cultivation touchpoints, including personal thank yous, digital communications, and personalized outreach.

- Align fundraising efforts with strategic objectives.

- Spearhead fundraising efforts for major gifts required to repair and upgrade the retreat center in coordination with the board development committee and ED

- Collaborate with leadership to create compelling fundraising materials, presentations, and campaigns.

- Manage and maintain the online donor software system

- Monitor and analyze fundraising performance metrics, providing regular reports to leadership and the board.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.

- Proven track record in fundraising, particularly in the nonprofit or Jewish organizational sector. Organization’s fundraising goal exceeds $1MM annually.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and cultivate relationships with donors and stakeholders.

- Experience in managing donor databases or fundraising software.

- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including board members and volunteers.

- Deep understanding and appreciation of Jewish values, traditions, Zionism and community dynamics.

- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
