ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Engineer 3 within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, headquartered in Fairfield County. The address is 2871 Liebs Island Road, Millersport, Ohio 43046. What you will do…

Acts as staff specialist in dam safety & water resources engineering;

Serves as Dam Tender and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all state, federal and local compliance requirements across all division properties;

Coordinates with other ODNR divisions and ensures proper training of staff and operation of dams;

Tracks, monitors, inspects, reports and evaluates all dams and related equipment;

Starting hourly pay of $35.74/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $51.03/hr.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASSIFICATION AFTER EMPLOYMENT: Renewal of certificate of registration as professional engineer as prescribed by law.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May be exposed to inclement weather & unsafe conditions during inspection of projects to include walking long and short

distances, climbing & navigating rough terrain, steep slopes & embankments & spillways & ladders while carrying needed

equipment.

Certificate of registration as professional engineer issued by State Licensing Board; 12 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Engineer 2, 85742 or 12 mos. equivalent related engineering experience.
