Class B CDL Front Driver/Rear End Driver/Roll Off Driver

Job Description

This is a Teamsters 813 Union position. Driver is responsible to safely operate a heavy duty truck to service waste containers to and from our base.

Responsibilities

Operate vehicle in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.

Performs pre- and post - trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).

Notifies Dispatch of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.

Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.

Plan routes and use GPS.

Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving.

Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

Report defects, accidents, and violations.

Skills

Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc).

Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules an regulations.

Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations, (traffic, weather conditions, etc).

Valid CDL driving license.
