CNC Lathe Machinist

NOW HIRING - 1ST SHIFT CNC LATHE MACHINIST

Summary: Busy machine shop looking for a Level 2 or higher LATHE machinist (see definition below) to maintain and operate our barrel machining center to produce parts from aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. Our barrel machining center consists of an Okuma LU-3000, an Okuma-Genos 250, and a DMG Mori NLX2500. You will set up these machines, load and unload parts, identify and change out broken tools, perform all of the preventative maintenance on your machines and manage your chip bins, and run all these machines at once. You may also run our Tsugami SS327-5AX III swiss turn machine and DMG Mori NTX1000 5-axis mill turn. This is not a programming position and does not require programming experience. These are continuous production parts with already-proven programs.

About the shop: We have 3-axis verticals, 4-axis horizontals, a 5-axis mill turn, several lathes, wire EDMs, and a Swiss machine.

Hours: M-Th 6:00am - 4:30pm

Pay: $25-30/hour, depending on experience and ability.

Experience Required. We are looking for a skilled machinist. Please identify your skill level using the definitions below:

Level 1 Machinist: Operates machines following setup by a Level 2 or 3 machinist, able to read prints, demonstrate experience with common CNC G and M codes, able to load and adjust CNC programs and offsets, perform inspections and basic preventative machine maintenance such as coolant and lube levels and area cleanliness.

Level 2 Machinist: Possesses all the abilities of Level 1 + able to complete simple to intermediate setups with minimal assistance and supervision, able to use advanced quality inspection tools and techniques, demonstrate advanced competencies in blue print reading and common tool geometry identification and application.

Level 3 Machinist: Possesses all the abilities of Level 2 + able to complete complex setups without assistance or supervision, apply advanced blue print and GD&T reading to complex production inspection processes, edit programs and write simple programs to make tooling, troubleshoot complex parts, and provide assistance and training to lower level operators.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
