Overview:

Travel will be required within the region this position is located and to other OSf locations in Central IL

Internship pays $19.21/hour

POSITION SUMMARY: The Performance Improvement Intern supports various projects aimed at enhancing performance and meaningful outcomes. They oversee projects from origin through realization, ensuring alignment with OSF HealthCare’s strategic goals. The Performance Improvement Intern collaborates closely with people, processes, and technology. Some key tasks may include engagement in and facilitation of project exploration and charter development, current and future state process mapping, voice of customer and measurement planning, solution generation, and implementation planning, among other stimulating opportunities to grow the Performance Improvement competency.

Engages in training opportunities that enhance Performance Improvement competencies, including but not limited to PI Lead Training, Change Management, and other training opportunities.

Supports low to moderately complex project work using Performance Improvement methodologies and approaches to impact project performance.

Develops and supports the approval process of project charters that define the opportunity, business case, goals, scope, timeline, and team to achieve an objective.

Manages detailed project plans to support the execution of tasks. Develops content to support project updates and other requests.

Facilities Team and Business Leader meetings.

Engages in the OSF HealthCare Mission Recognition Program. Participates in feedback exchanges with Mission Partner peers and leaders.

The internship will begin in May 20, 2024 and end late August 2024.

The Performance Improvement Intern will be required to travel throughout the Ministry to support project objectives.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Our Performance Improvement Intern must have exceptional personal skills and the ability to collaborate with various Mission Partners throughout OSF HealthCare. The Intern must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and have proven attention to detail.

Education:

Junior or Senior level student attending college or university advancing towards Bachelors Degree in a Clinical, Business or Health Administration related field OR Associates Degree in a Clinical, Business or Health Administration related field.

Other Skills/Knowledge:

Interest in gaining experience in the healthcare field.

Experience with performance improvement methodologies and / or project management.

Competence in leading open discission and facilitation group interactions.

Practice in critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and relationship building.
