Responsibilities:
About the Role:
The Asset Liability Management (ALM) Analyst is a key team member supporting the research, development, implementation, and maintenance of GM Financial's Asset Liability Management model and processes. Leveraging your quantitative and modeling experience, you will perform complex balance sheet and risk analyses, as well as communicating your results and recommendations to senior management.
You will support the research, development, and implementation of GM Financial's ALM model
You will provide in-depth analysis to support the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) reporting of interest rate, cross currency, and liquidity risks
You will attend ALCO meeting every month and prepare and distribute minutes to senior management for approval
You will support balance sheet forecasting and planning process; working closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to coordinate assumptions, methodologies, and results
You will develop models and reports to track asset cash flows and origination trends
You will prepare, analyze and manage large data sets involving historical balances and incomes for statistical analysis
Qualifications:
What makes you a dream candidate?
You will maintain up to date model documentation and work with internal constituents such as Audit and Model validation for the assigned ALM model
Understand key fixed income risk concepts such as convexity and duration
Utilize knowledge of modeling financial information, including forecasting and capital markets
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, Power Point and Microsoft Office skills and other query tools including SQL
Utilize advanced analytics to assess market and liquidity risks
You have advanced knowledge of finance, statistics, accounting, and/or financial services
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Economics, Statistics in related field or equivalent work experience required
1-3 years asset liability management, financial analysis, data mining, statistics and forecasting required
Prior experience with balance sheet management systems such as QRM or BancWare preferred
Licenses
CFA and/or MBA or progress towards, a plus
