Purpose and Mission:

Our client is looking for a Senior Chemist level individual who is an independent contributor for wood coatings with 10+ years of experience

The chemistries focus on waterborne and solvent borne with some UV-curable opportunities

This position will primarily involve developing new products, learning and maintain our existing product lines and software, mentoring other staff members, and collaborating with other departments

This position reports directly to the Technical Director

Technical Qualifications:

BS in Chemistry or relevant field with 10 yearsâ experience formulating all types of wood coatings

Have an in-depth understanding of the differences in products and application

Must have a complete understanding of application equipment

Must have a complete understanding of coating systems

Should have ability to formulate colors (color test to be administered)

Have a familiarity with solvents & additives and their correlations in coatings

Have knowledge with testing parameters: KCMA, AWI, ASTM etc…

Be able to communicate between departments and remain objective
