Summary:
The Senior Public Relations Manager will be responsible for managing HUB's communication initiatives in Canada, specifically with media relations. Duties include leading the development of media materials and digital content, managing HUB's proactive PR strategy through media outreach, executive positioning, thought leadership strategies and analyzing and reporting on media coverage. This role will report to the Director of Corporate Communications.
Major Responsibilities:
Serve as a key member of HUB’s communications team - working to promote and protect HUB's brand reputation in Canada
Develop and execute proactive media relations plans - including securing and managing a wide range of media opportunities, from interviews to leadership-authored contributed columns
Lead development of media relationships with targeted publications, potentially in collaboration with an external agency /consultants
Anticipate potential public relations opportunities and issues and play a leadership role in addressing them effectively
Draft a wide variety of communications materials for internal and external audiences - with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, including Executive Management Team communications
Develop strong working relationships with the media and internal subject matter experts across multiple functions, including the President of Canada, and business segments to advance HUB’s brand reputation
Continuously update HUB Canada media materials including overview presentations and digital/visual assets
Manage the tracking and internal reporting of HUB Canada media coverage and performance
Collaborate with all Communications and Corporate Marketing team members to help achieve HUB's overall brand marketing, public relations, social media, internal communications goals
Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related area
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a corporate or agency environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and keen focus on quality
Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships
Good creative writing skills
Strong track record of producing press releases and other publicity material
Familiar with marketing and content strategies, media campaigns and implementing them successfully
Familiar with internal communications strategies and change management support
Proficiency in the use of word processing software tools
Knowledge of media databases and software preferred (e.g., Cision/Gorkana, Brandwatch, Critical Mention, Meltwater)
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
