About the position: As the Patient Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting patients in navigating and understanding the financial aspects of their healthcare, including but not limited to insurance coverage, payment options, and billing procedures.
What you'll do:
Establishes and maintains supportive and cooperative relationships with patients and counsel patients on all out-of-pocket liabilities
Demonstrates clear understanding of core business structures, systems, best practices, trends, and technologies within the industry
Contacts and works directly with patients regarding their account balances
Uses technology to determine the patient's ability to pay for services
Documents all patient account correspondence in the appropriate note field, designated forms, or data bases
Responds to complex financial questions regarding patient accounts
Reviews and approves patient account prior to going to bad debt
Educates patients on social services programs and financial assistance programs available
Be a point of contact for patients with questions regarding financial aid applications
Reviews and monitors patient accounts to ensure accuracy.
Maintains documents, reports, and records in order to comply with internal compliance, policies, procedures, Arkana Core Values
Provides Best in Class Service to every patient to ensure world class patient satisfaction.
Recommends improvement processes and procedures as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
You should have:
Proven track record of process improvement to drive accuracy and efficiency
Evidenced problem-solver
Strong leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and analytical thinker
Demonstrated ability to project manage (i.e. scheduling, critical thinking, communication)
Ability to prioritize and maintain composure in stressful times.
Ability to work independently and accurately with little supervision
Education: Minimum of high school diploma
Experience: Three (3) years of experience of any combination of medical billing, collections, and financial counseling
1 year of customer service experience
Computer Skills: Proficient with various software applications (Outlook, Excel, Word), computer systems, web-based applications, and third-party portals
