Position: Medical Assistant

Company: Medi-Weightloss of Alexandria, VA

Part-Time: Tues (7am-1pm), Wed (1pm-7pm), Thur(1pm-6pm), Friday(7am-Noon), Saturday (8am-Noon)

Residence: Must be a Virginia resident

Primary Responsibilities for Medical Assistant:

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role with primary responsibilities that include patient vitals, EKG, phlebotomy, and front office duties. We value team players with clinical skills. Exercise knowledge a plus.

Administrative Duties for Medical Assistant:

• Ensure exceptional patient service by maintaining a friendly environment, greeting patients, and upholding outstanding standards.

• Perform daily scanning and uploading of documents in patient files.

• Train additional staff on daily procedures when requested by the office manager and/or physician.

• Participate in clinic marketing efforts and provide ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success.

• Assist with monitoring daily inventory levels of clinical and office supplies.

Clinical Duties for Medical Assistant (varied based on credentials):

• Obtain patient vitals, EKG, and perform phlebotomy.

• Administer IM injections.

• Prepare laboratory order forms and obtain patient laboratory results.

• Assist physicians or mid-level practitioners with patient referrals to other healthcare professionals.

• Document patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR.

• Conduct follow-up calls to patients to discuss progress and address concerns.

• Perform other clinical duties as required.

Medical Assistant Requirements:

To excel in this role, you must have:

• Medical Assistant certification.

• Clinical experience in EKG and phlebotomy.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
