Job Description Restaurant Assistant Manager
ACCOUNTABLE TO: General Manager and Assistant GM
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Shift Lead/Shift Manger are to oversee operations and workers during scheduled shifts. Shift Leader responsibilities include manager employees, managing cash, resolving conflicts and checking equipment. Ultimately, you will ensure all aspects of your shift run smoothly and effectively. You are a leader committed to quality service and have experience in our industry.
Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts
The primary manager on duty during the shift
Help with scheduling of employee shifts and assign duties
Manage time-off requests and handle last-minute absences
Train and coach new employees
Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to management
Consistently walk the floor so you can catch a little problem BEFORE it develops into a BIG problem!
Always: Stay calm, responding in a concerned and sympathetic manner
Ensure health and safety standards are followed
Address customer and employee complaints
Resolve conflicts between workers
Foster and maintain a positive work environment
Communicate with the management team on any and all situations keeping the team informed at all times to stay ahead of any further concerns or opportunities
Document and report any and all situations that may require further attention
Oversee beverage inventory and purchasing when no beverage managers is present
Watch ticket times and make sure cooks are not falling behind
Assist with controlling seating at peak times to ensure all aspects of the operation are flowing smoothly
Ensure any and all products leaving the kitchen meet SeaQuake standards
Document and report any and all situations that may require further attention
Complete a daily manager log for the shift
Assist with other duties and tasks as assigned by GM or AGM
Prepare Paperwork
Prepare labor schedules for front of house
Oversee beverage inventory and purchasing when no beverage managers is present
Assist with food costing and labor costing paper and computer work
Assist with other duties and tasks assigned by the GM
