General Purpose:

The Shipping Receiving Clerk is responsible for all incoming and outgoing packages, ensuring purchased products and materials meet specific technical requirements. Tracking inventory, keeping accurate records, inspecting goods received for damage, and distributing products to other departments.

Essential Duties:

Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all delivery items; checks against suppliers' count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisors, and purchasing specialists per company policy.

Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.

Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned and dunnage.

Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.

Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.

Prepares bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments.

Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.

Prepare reports and maintain accurate inventory and procurement records.

Coordinate purchasing details with vendor and the Purchasing Department, including pricing revisions, order cancellation, and invoice discrepancies.

Collaborate with customer service team members to determine strategic initiatives and anticipation of business requirements.

Develop strategies to maximize efficiency, improve quality, and lower costs.

Evaluate products and suppliers according to key business criteria.

Performs other clerical and related duties as assigned.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns in a timely manner.

Education / Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred previous clerical/purchasing sales experience in the manufacturing industry. College degree in a related field (Business, Finance, Sales, Economics) is a plus.

Language Skills: Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, to write correspondence, memos, and schedule; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff.

Mathematical Skills: Strong math skills and analytical skills are required.

Reasoning Ability: Problem-solving, reasoning, and "thinking out of the box" will be a constant requirement; in addition, applying common sense understanding to better serve our guests' needs.

Physical Demands:

Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.

Prolonged periods of sitting.

Occasional periods of walking and standing.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches.

Consistently turning and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs.

Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Environment/Noise: Most work is performed indoors. Some work may be performed outside in all types of weather. Is exposed to noise, vibration, dust, oil, solvents, dirt, and fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and or skin.

Certificates/Licenses (Preferred Qualifications): Valid California Driver's License
