Senior Air Quality Scientist
Position Location: St. Petersburg, FL or Remote
Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT), is seeking a Senior Air Quality Scientist to support our Aviation Air Quality Practice. CMT is a nationally recognized leader in air quality and a top tier aviation firm (top 25 ENR rating). CMT staff are experienced in air quality testing, atmospheric dispersion modeling, and the analysis of stationary and mobile sources of pollutants. Staff include environmental engineers, air quality scientists, chemists, and meteorologists, who are at the forefront of transportation-related applications.
Responsibilities include:
Applying local, state, and federal environmental policies and regulations as they relate to air quality and climate
Preparing air pollutant, pollutant precursor, and greenhouse gas emission estimates for airport sources (e.g., aircraft, motor vehicles, fire training facilities, ground support equipment)
Preparing air pollutant macroscale and microscale dispersion analysis
Developing emission reduction and sustainability measures (including carbon credits and offsets)
Preparing reports that describe the relevant analysis policies and regulations and the methodologies and results of the emission estimates and dispersion analysis
Interacting with clients and the public to present analysis results
Managing multiple projects and clients
Assisting with the pursuit of air quality/climate-related contracts (may require travel)
Minimum requirements:
B.S. degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Meteorology, or related discipline; M.S. degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in a direct or related field
Work experience with one of the Atmospheric Sciences (e.g., climatology, dynamic meteorology, atmospheric chemistry)
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Strong communication skills (written and verbal reports)
Ability to work in the field as needed
Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license with access to transportation
