Role Description:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and ensuring accurate and timely reporting for our consulting firm. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of up to 5 dedicated finance staff and contribute to the company's overall success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to provide key insights for decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and present accurate financial statements, budgets, and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

Perform regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and monitor adherence.

Conduct financial forecasting to provide guidance on resource allocation and business planning.

Analyze budget variations and provide recommendations for cost control measures.

Financial Management:

Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.

Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.

Collaborate with external auditors and coordinate audits to ensure compliance.

Cash Flow Management:

Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and funding requirements to maintain optimal financial health.

Implement cash management policies and strategies to optimize working capital.

Identify and evaluate financial risks and implement strategies to minimize exposure.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor a team of up to 5 finance staff, providing guidance and support.

Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing training.

Foster a positive work culture, promote teamwork, and develop a high-performing finance team.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA is highly desirable.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing.

Previous experience in a consulting firm or professional services industry is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of financial accounting standards, reporting, and compliance.

Proficiency with financial management software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting tools is an advantage.

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

Business Acumen:

Demonstrated understanding of the consulting industry and its financial dynamics.

Ability to translate financial data into business insights and provide strategic recommendations.

Excellent business judgment and ability to liaise with senior management and stakeholders.
