CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

SITE OF SERVICE:

17th Medical Group, Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Psychology (PsyD).

Education: Graduate from an American Psychology Association-accredited college or university with a clinical or counseling psychology doctoral degree.

Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.

Experience: At least one year of experience as a licensed clinical psychologist.

Certification: A hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) course through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be maintained.

License: Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Citizenship: All personnel performing services under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.

Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate effectively.

Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and sitting for extended periods and performing all required services.

CORE DUTIES:

Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.

Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources.

Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.

Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.

Assist in the rehabilitation of patients.

HOURS:

Potential to the following schedule: 0700-1600 with a 1-hour non-working lunch, Monday-Friday. The performance hours of the 17 MDG are as follows: Normal Duty hours are from Monday- Friday, 0730-1630.

Notification at least two (2) weeks in advance before any schedule changes.

BASE-DOWN DAYS:

During a planned closure of the facility due to training, closures before or after holidays, or family down days, the Employee will only be compensated for the hours worked. If the clinic is closed and the Employee cannot work, the Employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
