WORKSHOP ENGINEER

SCOPE OF JOB

Plans, schedules and supervises the activities of assigned personnel in the workshop. Performs supervisory functions at the level established by management. Ensures that QA/QC function on all critical repairs and overhaul of plant and equipment is well maintained and adequately performed.

MAIN TASKS

1)

Ensures the Operation and Management of Maintenance workshop as per contract scope of work, Company specifications and procedures, relevant ASME, API, BS EN and other international standards.

2)

Directs the daily scheduled maintenance work requests pertaining to workshop activities with respect to Company priorities, available resources of various disciplines like Fabrication, machining, valve shop, rigging, insulation, scaffolding, waste management, transportation, civil activities, painting, heavy equipment and spares in order to timely completion as planned.

3)

Ensures adequate consumables and tools are available for planned work in order to meet the work requirements, reviews tool room stock levels to ensure that stocks are maintained at adequate levels for future work program.

4)

Ensures the availability of all workshop equipment by maintaining the preventive maintenance of said equipment.

5)

Ensures and co-ordinate with calibration agencies to maintain the calibration of all measuring instruments of tool room and valve shop of workshop.

6)

Ensures various hoses and adaptors management which are used for hydrostatic testing at valve shop.

7)

Shall have working experience of e-PTW system in any gas plant / refinery.

8)

Co-ordinate and arrange the raw material and consumables which are required urgently for various field maintenance activities as per Company specifications from various vendors and suppliers with prior commercial approval from Company.

9)

Co-ordinate and get the special services which are required for field maintenance activities like PWHT, PSVs of more than 180 bar CSP, Hiring of diesel Generators, EOT crane repairs, repair of lifting gear, calibration of measuring instruments etc.

10)

Co-ordinate with OEM of critical equipment of workshop to get it done the annual maintenance of PSV and control valve test benches periodically.

11)

Co-ordinate with other contractors like heavy equipment and scaffolding for collective and smooth operations of field maintenance.

12)

Co-ordinate with other discipline Company Supervisors (Instrument / Mechanical / Electrical / Reliability) in order to organize their workshop service requests as per Company priorities.

13)

Shall able to perform as a Performing authority of electronic Consolidated Permit to Work system (eCPW, RLIC) on behalf of Company to execute various activities at pipe line corridor outside the Company fence.

14)

Maintain the work history, closing of notifications and work orders after completion of job in the CMMS / SAP that are pertaining to various equipment including PSVs history.

15)

Prepare monthly KPI report by consolidating the data from different crafts of workshop (Fabrication, machining, valve shop, rigging, insulation, scaffolding, waste management, transportation, civil activities, painting, etc).

16)

Preparation, maintain and update the various work procedures for all technical and practical aspects related to workshop operation and management.

17)

Keeps abreast of changes in all relevant standards and improvements in associated technology equipment design and maintenance practices.

18)

Support the various shutdown activities which are scheduled for field maintenance scope during equipment/ unit / stream SD.

19)

Proposes items for capital and operating budgets elaborating justification and participates actively in the preparation of the budget with regard to workshop related equipment and activities.

20)

Verifies and endorses all received spare parts and raw materials relating to workshop activities.

21)

Carries out technical reviews at GAS plant modification work ensuring that such modifications are implemented in accordance with international standards and Company specifications.

22)

Recommends selection of contractors for various specific tasks on an economic and capability basis and supervises their activities on site.

23)

Ensures and maintains the periodical qualification records of personnel and equipment like welders, lifting equipment, rigging personnel etc.

24)

Ensures all the required trainings are met as per contractor HSSE plan of various craft personnel who are working for maintenance activities of workshop of Company.

25)

Writes technical reports with minimum guidance.
