We are looking for an experienced Physician Assistant who is in possession of medical knowledge, clinical skills and professional attitudes in the provision of high quality and safe patient-centered care under the direction and supervision of a physician.

JOB DUTIES

Physician Assistant in our clinic will:

• Obtain health history as appropriate, including patient demographics, chief complaint, history of the present illness or injury, past medical, surgical, family and psychosocial history, medications, allergies and systems review.

• Conduct comprehensive and focused physical assessments and interpret findings. This includes assessment of vital signs and examination of all major body systems. In addition, the PA performs psychological, ob-gyn, neonatal, paediatric and geriatric assessments.

• Upon complete and appropriate assessment of a patient formulates a clinical treatment plan for direct patient care, when and as directed by a supervising physician.

• Implements an effective management plan that includes preventive and therapeutic interventions, when and as directed by a supervising physician.

• Order and complete preliminary interpretation of necessary diagnostic tests, which may include, but are not limited to, haematology, microbiology, chemistry, serology, urinalysis, blood gas, ECG, peak flow and plain film x-ray.

• Demonstrates appropriate procedural skills, both diagnostic and therapeutic, when and as directed by a supervising physician.

• Accurately conveys relevant information and explanations to patients, families and other health care professionals.

• Communicates patient diagnosis to patients/families.

• Provides relevant information and explanations, including a proposed treatment plan, to health care providers.

• Provides education to patients, families and other health providers, as appropriate to the clinical setting.

• Ensures consistent inventory, through the daily stocking of exam rooms, fridges, filing cabinets

• Develops professional rapport, trust and ethical therapeutic relationships with patients, families and caregivers, when and as directed by a supervising physician.

• Ensures a clean, quiet environment

• Assists in registration of patients, invoicing and collecting payment

• Other duties as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHScPA) or Master's degree (MPAS) from a university level program.

• This role is suitable for an international medical graduate or internationally trained physician who is actively pursuing relicensing

• Recent medical experience (within the last 5 years) is mandatory.

• Demonstrated knowledge, skills and judgment to implement medical directives during probationary period

• Ability to perform in a stressful, critical/emergency situations with the ability to be flexible and adapt to change

• Ability to work in an interprofessional healthcare environment

• Effective prioritizing, critical thinking and decision making skills required

• Effective clinical practice, technical and leadership skills required

• Demonstrated proficiency working with computer applications relevant to electronic health records required

• Self-driven and motivated to learn new systems, optimize processes, increase efficiency and work independently

Terms of the employment:

Permanent

Fulltime: 30 hours/ week

Salaries: $55.00 / hour, $85,800/ year
