Accounting Manager

PURPOSE

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the financial accounting and reporting activities of the organization.

KEY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Oversee the financial accounting and reporting functions for the company, including managing the activities of the accounting team.

2. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.

3. Maintain and prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and other financial information to support business decision-making.

4. Develop and implement budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

5. Oversee the preparation of tax returns, financial reports for regulatory agencies, and other external reporting requirements.

6. Identify areas for improvement in the financial accounting and reporting processes, and recommend and implement changes as appropriate.

7. Work closely with other departments and teams within the organization to provide financial guidance and support and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

8. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory accounting and financial reporting requirements.

9. Manage and mentor accounting staff, monitor performance, assess training needs, and provide opportunities for their development

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• At least 7-10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and management.

• Well-versed in all general accounting principles.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.

• Knowledge of external financial reporting requirements.

• CPA certification is highly desirable.
