Data and Backend Engineer (Remote)

We are on the lookout for a talented individual to join our team, focusing on the deployment, scaling, monitoring, and life cycle management of machine learning models in production environments, as well as extensive data engineering tasks. This role requires flexibility to cover the diverse needs of our data science and engineering teams, along with extensive skills in data engineering tasks.

What you'll do,

Assess and determine the optimal environment for hosting and fine-tuning the machine learning models.

Evaluate cloud service providers based on cost, scalability, and computational resources having hands-on experience in platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Handle the deployment of ML models into production, ensuring seamless integration with existing applications.

Set up and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Monitor model performance, performing updates and fixes as required.

Ensure efficient scaling of data pipelines and models, transitioning from limited infrastructure to robust, scalable server solutions.

Oversee server management, infrastructure automation, and potentially guide transitions to more scalable architecture.

Build and maintain sophisticated pipelines, data warehousing, and ETL tools.

Aggregate, clean, and transform various data sources for use in services, models, and user-facing analytics.

Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering or backend development

Expertise in Python and preferably Node.js for creating scalable backend services.

Experience using database management systems and an in-depth understanding of the types and their applications

Experience with designing and implementing data pipelines and integration of diverse data sources.

Familiarity with GCP, AWS or Azure for deploying cloud-based solutions.

Proficiency in automated testing, CI/CD practices, and code review participation.
