Controller - Newnan
This position is responsible for the supervision of accounting professionals; oversees calculating, posting, verifying, and typing duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records; leads most day to day operations of group by performing the following duties.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties.
Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments.
Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes.
Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Monitor financial activities and details such as reserve levels to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals.
Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and nonorganizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities

Master's Degree (MA) or equivalent, or four to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting Software; Inventory Software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportion to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
