We are looking for a skilled and experienced furniture cabinetmaker to join our team.

Job Duties:

• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made or prepare specifications

• Operate CADD and other computer software systems

• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints

• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics

• Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Estimate costs and materials

• Operate woodworking machines and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components

• Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products

• Prepare and assemble cabinets for installation

• Install cabinets and custom millwork with a team

• Instruct apprentices

Job Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in cabinet making or other wooden fixtures.

• If less than 3 years of experience, a post-secondary education certificate OR completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program is required.

• Knowledge of carpentry within the kitchen, millwork industry

• Skilled in machining, finishing and installation

• Good knowledge of cabinet construction (kitchens, bars, vanities, custom millwork, etc.)

• Experience working with various materials (wood veneers, solid wood, MDF, melamine).

• Knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing environment

• Ability to use various hand and power tools such as sanders, routers, saws, and edge bander

• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to read blueprint drawings and work orders.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to accomplish tasks

• High attention to details

Salary: $24,50 hourly, 35-40 hours per week

Important Information:

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. However, flexibility on schedule is required as some days will start earlier, and others finish later depending on the business needs. Overtime and work on weekends may be required.
