We are looking for a Registered Nurse to take on an exciting 3-month contract position that offers a strong possibility of fulltime employment based on performance. This thrilling fulltime contract position is located in Peel Region, located just west of Toronto. This role will have you working in a healthcare facility offers a unique and vibrant opportunity for you to work in HealthCare setting. This is a long-term relief assignment where you will be responsible for the case management of employee’s occupational and non-occupational illness / injuries WSIB, STD LTD.

Please note that you will be given adequate paid training, preparation, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Due to the nature of this assignment, there are no openings for any part time hours. Only those with Full Time availability will be considered.

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: FT hours, 32 to 40 hours/week

Contract Duration: 3-month contract w/ a possibility of Fulltime (based on performance)

Pay Rate: $38/hour

Duties of the Registered Nurse:

• complete testing or screening services, such as ergonomic assessment, drug and alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing, audiometric testing, or blood pressure screening

• assess and treat work-related illnesses and injuries

• perform emergency care on-site and arrange for further medical care as needed

• perform fit-for-work testing for specific jobs in the workplace

• offer health counselling and support and provide referrals to other medical or health care professionals, such as psychologists, physical therapists, or general physicians

• work with company management to create, implement, and manage wellness programs, such as fitness programs, vaccination programs, or workplace safety training

• ensure compliance with provincial workplace health and safety regulations and worker's compensation boards

• assist with managing short- and long-term disability cases, such as arranging for insurance or health care coverage, ongoing rehabilitation, and return-to-work protocols

work in collaboration with a company's health and safety team to identify workplace hazards and make suggestions to minimize injuries and accidents

• collect workplace data to evaluate the success and effectiveness of workplace health and safety programs

• Use thermal screening technology to track body temperature and check for related potential outward symptoms of people entering the location

• Document the incoming and outgoing guests’ condition, and nursing needs

• Accurately and promptly implement orders from supervising authorities

• You will also provide general nursing care for patients under your care. This may include treating for fatigue; injuries from slips, trips, and falls; and other medical emergencies that might occur

• Ensure that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner

• Provide daily reports and records of pertinent observations and reactions

• Assist with set-up and take down of nursing stations

Qualifications:

• Active Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse

• Occupational Health Nursing Diploma or Certificate or currently working towards / agreement to work towards.

• 3 to 5 years Occupational Health Nursing is an asset

• Demonstration of critical thinking and prioritization skills

• Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Employment Standards Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, etc.)

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively with the team and patients

• Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills

• Active liability and malpractice insurance

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Current CPR/ AED and Standard First Aid certification

• Valid Class 5 Drivers
