AOI Operator / QC Inspector AOI AXI (Day and Swing Shift)

Job Overview:

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector performs in-process to ensure adherence of the product to compliance requirements and procedures, operates AOI/ AXI machines and provides AOI/ AXI support. Reports to Production Supervisor and is in Newark, CA

Primary Job Responsibilities

1. Operate the AOI

Responsible for the entire AOI/ AXI operation/line support activities

Review AOI/ AXI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of component placement and solder joint defects

Support and maintain test handlers, troubleshooting AOI/ AXI machine whenever necessary to support production

Assist superior to carry out various studies for quality improvement, program, and cycle time optimization for AOI / AXI operation.

Work in close collaboration with the processing and engineering teams to improve visual defect yields and resolve processing issues

2. Perform inspections

Perform visual quality inspection on the product as defined by work instruction, customer requirements, and engineering instruction,

Ensure process and product compliance with ISO 900X, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, IATF 16949 standards,

Validate workmanship adherence to IPC- 610 and IPC-600 as well as other defined criteria.

3. Perform AOI/ AXI-related quality inspection tasks

Inspect components or feature chips, ICs, joints, text, connectors, clips, screws, etc., using the AOI/ AXI computer-operated machine,

Inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards, using magnification aids and stereo microscopes,

Read, understand, and follow customer’s drawings, specifications, instructions, and requirements as they apply to inspect printed circuit board assembly,

Load AOI/ AXI programs per instructions,

Perform AOI / AXI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement, and solder joint defects,

Perform DAGE X-Ray inspection as needed,

Detects and reports problems and issues in the operation process and components.

Required Education Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience operating AOI/ AXI equipment

High School Diploma
