Job Summary

This description is representative of the duties and responsibilities an employee encounters while perform-ing the essential functions of this job in addition to the qualifications required of an employee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility.

•Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation.

•Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices.

•Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps.

•Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor.

•Communicate effectively with all customers and field personnel.

•Must be able to work occasional overtime if required.

•Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems.

•Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical tools.

•Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.

•Perform other duties as assigned, which may include working in another role or in another department as needed.

Education and / or Experience

•High School Diploma, GED equivalent or applicable experience

•Minimum four years of experience in the construction industry

•Clean driving record and current license

•Experience reading mechanical and electrical blueprints.

License/Certification

Active State of Texas Master Electrician Licenses (Required)

Physical Demands

•Must be physically able to perform work assigned.

•Ability to lift, carry, and/or pull 75 pounds on a regular basis

•Working conditions will significantly vary (extreme outdoor temperatures/inclement weather conditions), high noise level in certain areas. These positions are physically demanding on a routine basis. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms: climb or balance and stoop: kneel and/or crouch.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts at eye level or overhead; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration; mud; grease; and diesel fuel. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and icy surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee primarily works in an outdoor environment with extreme heat/cold; direct sunlight; wet and/or humid conditions; and other outside weather conditions.
