A manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, structures, pipes, and electrical systems in commercial or industrial facilities. This is a second shift position with training being done on first shift.
Duties:
Visually inspect, test, and repair machinery and equipment and detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations to diagnose problem or repair machine
Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, install and repair transformers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
Lay-out, assembly, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment, and install programs or repair automated machinery and equipment
Set-up and operate lathe, grinding, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, and fixtures, and tools
Operates cutting torch or welding equipment, fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures
Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment
Understand and complies with relevant Management System requirements per the Departmental Training Plan
Perform other duties as needed
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, write simple correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, function with minimum or no supervision, and be a team player
Must have the ability to regularly stand and walk, occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds
The ability to maintain exemplary time keeping and attendance record, with a positive attitude towards overtime is needed
Only those candidates that can pass a background check and drug screen will be considered. Any candidate that has troubleshooting skills is a plus. This company offers benefits upon permanent hire.
