Atlanta law firm is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join their team. Below are the responsibilities and qualifications

required for this position:

Oversees accounting department personnel and possesses proven hands on ability to serve as backup when necessary.

Review accounting policies and procedures and formulate options for modifications to improve processes and/or efficiency of the accounting department.

Develops necessary business processes and solutions to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statement preparation and internal accounting controls.

Manages daily accounting tasks including billing, general ledger maintenance, payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing.

Develops and provides orientation regarding accounting and billing policies and procedures to new attorneys and staff as required.

Interfaces with the professional staff of the firm to troubleshoot, analyze and solve problems and questions that occur. Identify and target problem areas within the department and formulate ideas to solve them.

Generate, analyze and distribute monthly reports of budgets versus actual spending.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and report any irregularities and concerns to the Firm Administrator and Management Committee. Backup to Controller in payroll processing, reconciling of bank accounts, monitoring cash flow and attending to all banking needs.

Conducts profitability analysis and makes recommendations regarding increasing profitability.

Oversees time/billing and collections processes; provides back-up support in the absence of accounting personnel.

Coordinate with human resources on company benefit plans (401k, profit sharing, medical) relative to their financial implications on the budgeting process, firm profitability and cash flow.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree with a major in Business, Accounting or Finance and CPA.

2 to 4 years experience in business or professional services firm with supervisory experience

Extensive knowledge of computerized General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Escrow, Trust and Billing procedures.

Experience with fully integrated accounting software. Elite experience preferred.

Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software and ability to conduct full analysis of computerized reports.

Knowledge of all aspects of an accounting department including setting goals, deadlines and accounting policies.

Team oriented self-starter who is able to work with various departments in a fast paced organization.
