A large manufacturing company is seeking a Procurement Specialist who will be responsible for developing processes and procedures consistent with the goals of the company, establishing and maintaining vendor relationships, and utilizing their business acumen to deliver advantageous terms. A typical day is 8 hours and you start anytime between 6:00am-9:00am. depending on the day.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as liaison between the business and vendors, source, engage, and negotiate supplies and vendors
Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements, vendor compliance COI, and W-9's
Review existing and negotiate new contracts with supplies and vendors and ensure contacts are in place
Control procurements budget, develop innovate and cost effective strategies, and establish procedures around purchase order process
Keep up-to-date of changing industry trends and changes, construction job costing, and order materials
Perform other duties as needed
Job Qualifications:
Must have Procurement or Purchasing Manager experience
Chemical manufacturing experience is mandatory; Hazmat or paint experience is a plus
Must have outstanding negotiation skills and be familiar with financial fundamentals
Must have experience with cost codes, budget analysis, purchase orders systems, and job tracking
Must have strong project management and organization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Must have a proven track record in cost reduction and be metrics driven
Must be very analytical, able to pay attention to detail, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Must have excellent communication, telephone, and organizational skills
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical practices
