Conflicts Specialist - for top tier global law firm. This position can be located in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA or Los Angeles, CA. This position can be remote but must live withing commuting distance to one of the offices.
Duties: Accurate conflicts reports in connection with new business intake or new hires. Research includes identifying relevant parties, creating accurate search terms, running searches in Firm and third-party databases, and filtering results. Compose concise and accurate reports of research results for lawyers and others in a timely manner. Interact daily with Firm lawyers and staff to gather information needed for accurate conflicts research and analysis. Participate in training of new Conflicts Research Assistants. Assist with maintenance of a confidential internal database of information about Firm clients and all related parties to specific matters. Maintain securities trading compliance database and assists with compliance questions.
Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree, law firm conflicts research experience. Familiarity with automated conflict checking systems used in a law firm setting. Familiarity with corporate family tree research, and legal and corporate research. Understanding of the complexities of business interrelationships in a global economic environment. Ability to learn new software and research tools quickly. Strong interpersonal skills to establish close working relationships. Proficiency with word processing systems, spreadsheets, and databases. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks. Flexibility for OT when necessary. Salary is commensurate with experience.
