Slitter & Re-winder Machine Operator

Looking for Slitter & Re-winder Machine Operator for high end sterile packaging manufacturer. As Slitter & Re-winder Op you will be required to operates machine to slit continuous lengths of material such as tyvek, felt, foil, paper, plastic, rubberized sheeting, or textile fabrics, into strips of specified widths. Looking for long term employees with good work ethic and a positive attitude. Come work in a sterile clean facility with a temperature controlled environment. 6% premium offered for 2nd and 3rd shifts. 10:00pm-6:00am *hours may vary*. Must be willing to work up to 12 hours per day and six days per week.

Responsibilities:

*Spaces rotary blades on machine shaft according to width specified for strips, and secure blades in position.

*Mount roll or bolt of material on machine supports and thread material over tension bar.

*Lap ends of slit material around take-up tubes.

*Start machine and observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.

*Move levers to stop, start, and regulate speed of machine and align material with rotary blades.

*Disengages winding shaft and removes narrow rolls of material.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

*Good communication

*Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

*Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

*Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Job Requirements:

*High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

*One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience.

*Read, write and understand English

*Experience as machine operator with mechanical aptitude.
