POSITION OVERVIEW:

One of the core skills of Business Analysts is requirements management. Developing solutions to solve business problems or improve existing processes begins with eliciting, defining, analyzing and documenting the needs of the business or the company.

This person will act as liaison and a lead facilitator among internal stakeholders to gather, analyze, document, communicate and validate business and system requirements and business methodologies. (S)he will create and maintain detailed workflows and other presentations, as needed, and will always look for ways to improve the current state of matters.

Business process management focuses on business processes, how to diagnose problems with an organization's current methodology, and how to restructure, recreate, and monitor processes to ensure they are most effective. Continuous improvements are made to get processes to an optimal level to support the business.

A core competency of this role is critical thinking, disciplined thinking that is clear, rational, open-minded, and informed by evidence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Define, implement and maintain business processes and procedures to meet business objectives. Analyze and identify opportunities for business process improvements.

Work directly with and serve as the liaison between business units, technology teams and support teams.

Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements, workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow.

Designs enhancements by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.

Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details.

Create and maintain workflows, approval processes, and validation rules based on internal stakeholder requirements.

Create training materials and documentations for internal claims system.

Perform a thorough gap analysis of existing to potential functionality for the claim processing systems.

Regularly meet with business users to have a better understanding of the operations and ways to improve it.

Perform analysis and identify gaps in functionality for system integrations.

Securing sign-off on requirements documentation to manage project scope.

Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.

Assist in quality assurance of new software or enhancements to existing software as needed.

Deliver informative, well-organized presentations.

Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to ZELIS standards regarding privacy.

Experience with Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen continuous improvement methodologies.

Design, develop and execute processes or projects and work with process owners or project team members throughout all phases of planning, implementation and control.

Lead small to medium scale process improvement initiatives. This position is accountable for the quality and timely completion of each stage of the process improvement effort.

This individual must have the ability to work collaboratively and interact with all levels within the organization.

The ability to multi task and work on multiple assignments will be required.

This individual must also demonstrate clear and concise communication both verbally and in writing.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen experience; Green Belt preferred

Disciplined, structured and logical approach to problem solving

Demonstrates proficiency in analyzing business needs and creating necessary documentation and system improvements to optimize functionality

Demonstrates proficiency in performing gap analysis to ensure optimal system and claim processing capability

7+ years of experience with Business Process Engineering

The ability to learn a new business and translate these needs into new products, and perform high-level troubleshooting functionality

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and business process development skills

Experience in product development life cycle

Experience with writing business requirements, functional specifications, and/or quality assurance testing

Knowledge of SDLC methodologies including experience working in waterfall and agile environments.

Fluent with Microsoft Office Suite including Visio

Workflow diagram creation

Wireframe creation

Desired skills include formal training/certifications in Business/System analysis; familiarity with latest UI/UX design guidelines; knowledge/experience with Agile methodologies; prototyping experience
