Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Chemist for a very important client. Would this spark your interest?

Design, plan and conduct analytical method development, qualification, transfer and testing activities to support development of a new dialysis platform utilizing sorbent technology for purification of dialysate solution. These analytical activities will support material selection and supply chain activities for sorbent components as well as finished sorbent cartridge characterization and verification.

Position Description:

This position works in collaboration with a global team on development activities leading to a sorbent-based dialysate regeneration unit. Main duties include analytical support for identification and evaluation of chemicals utilized in the dialysate regeneration cartridge, as well as qualification of the sorbent cartridge chemical layers and associated chemical processes. This position works independently in the laboratory with general direction from the project leadership. This position may provide work direction to laboratory technicians.

Main Responsibilities:

- Work independently to develop analytical test methods for the characterization of the sorbent chemicals, the dialysate regeneration cartridge and processes

- Develop, qualify, validate and potentially transfer test methods for analysis of electrolytes, small and large molecules, including proteins, using a variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation to meet project requirements, milestones and deadlines

- Develop, qualify and validate laboratory equipment and procedures

- Assist with writing protocols and procedures and other controlled documents

- Perform routine sample analyses in support of sorbent selection and qualification, dialysis regeneration cartridge development and characterization and scale-up and optimization of the sorbent manufacturing process.

- Document all work and interpret and report data with adherence to Quality System requirements

- Actively communicate progress, issues and results to project team members, supervisor and other key stakeholders

Requirement:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Method Validation for multilple assay types is a must.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

- At least a BS in Chemistry or related field scientific with 10+ years of laboratory work experience

- Experience with analytical method development and validation

- Experience with a range of analytical techniques, instrumentation and software such as gas (GC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ion chromatography, spectroscopy (infrared and UV-VIS), water analysis; etc

- Experience with mass spectrometry; GC-MS and LC-MS-MS

- Working knowledge of GLP, GMP and/or ISO regulations and experience working in a regulated environment
