Job description:

Manufacturing company is looking for an Electrical Engineer. The EE will be responsible for the following tasks.

• Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after the installation of equipment.

• Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.

• Install and maintain electrical control systems, solid-state equipment and program Logics. Modify and write PLC programs supporting equipment. Assist as needed troubleshooting equipment using a laptop.

• Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.

• Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.

• Collaborate with other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.

• Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.

• Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.

• Write commissioning procedures for electrical installations.

• Prepare project cost and work-time estimates.

• Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.

• Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units.

• Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material.

• Plan method and sequence of operations for developing and testing experimental electronic and electrical equipment.

• Visit vendor sites to observe conditions affecting design and to identify solutions to technical design problems involving electrical systems equipment that arise during the build.

Electrical Engineers are also hired to perform product control and system evaluations. This may require them to inspect a design plan, evaluate an electrical system and its components or actively test electronic equipment and provide recommendations or repairs. Electrical Engineering Technicians must know how to test circuits using diagnostic tools, create solutions and have the ability to complete basic repair work. In addition, the position will be required to perform preventative maintenance to ensure the electrical systems are always up-to-date and safe.

Electrical Engineering Technicians are expected to keep detailed documentation on all the systems and equipment they work on. They will be tasked with creating a user’s manual, updating a maintenance log or providing regular reports on the tasks they have completed. The ability to create visual aids is often important for Electrical Engineering Technicians.

This position will require up to 10% travel on a regular basis for trainings and other jobs as needed.

Experience Level, Education and Qualifications: 5 year experience with a B.S. College Degree college education in an electrical engineering field required.
