Job Description:

Identify appropriate Customer Equipment for Advanced Networking systems.

Conduct trade studies to trade vendors and base technologies (e.g., dedicated hardware v. white box/NFV implementations)

Identify tool requirements required for effectively operating an IP/SDN-based Network Design, automated provisioning, event correlation and presentation

Engage with customer engineering, operations, and management personnel to define and document the customer’s CONOPS and requirements.

Serve as a technical interface between Harris and the customers’ engineering staffs.

Decompose requirements and allocating them to different subsystems or cross-functional domains

Lead design review efforts and hold design reviews with internal and/or external stakeholders, and ensure design reviews are planned, executed, and action items closed.

Lead efforts to follow systems engineering processes throughout the lifecycle of the product or service

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Networking, Information Technology or a related field)

2. A minimum of 6 years of applicable experience.

3. Some experience and domain knowledge of L1 through L4 of the OSI Model. - Preferred

4. Some experience working with L2 and L3 protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IBGP, EBGP, IS-IS, and MPLS.

5. Some experience working with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Network Management System (NMS) applications used to monitor networked devices. - Preferred

6. Some experience working with Long Term Evolution (LTE), VPN, and DMVPN technologies. - Preferred

7. Experience working in an Operations Call Center or Data Center - Preferred

8. Prior experience required in maintaining high service levels in a demanding customer support services environment - Preferred

9. CCENT, CCNA, or CCNP preferred.

10. Team-player, able to work in a large program environment and have good communications skills. - Preferred

11. Strong experience in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle. - Preferred

12. Previous systems engineering leadership experience.- Preferred

13. Self-starter, with high initiative and drive - Preferred

14. ITIL v3 preferred - Preferred

15. Master’s degree or equivalent (MSEE, MSCE, MSSE, MCS [computer science] or a related field) - Preferred

16. Familiarity with FAA programs - Preferred
