Description:

We currently have Interpreter contractor openings (consecutive/simultaneous/sighting). Pay per hour ($20 per business hour-$25 business per hour) will depend on qualifications, appointment times and language demand. Independent contractor interpreters work on an as-needed basis without a set schedule, guarantee of hours and traveling in varies locations in Portland.

Interpreter languages we are looking for:

Zomi, Hmong, Karen, Kurdish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tigrinya, Rohingya, Burmese, Nepali, Thai, Lao, Mein, Guere (Regions of Africa ivory coast) and Indonesian.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is qualifying. This would typically include:

• At least 6 months of interpreting experience for any of the listed languages

• High School Diploma (higher education is plus)

• Any relevant training or education (health care or language)

• Ability to drive and have familiarity with Portland metro area

- Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
